The Bosom Buddies is a group of volunteer cancer survivors who provide one-on-one support to patients currently undergoing treatment. Buddies offer current patients with the opportunity to talk with “veterans” who have knowledge and resources based on personal experience. Buddies listen and lend helping hands in a confidential, sensitive, respectful and compassionate manner. The Buddy volunteers are sources of strength, hope and courage and are committed to encouraging, empowering and supporting patients currently undergoing treatment. While Bosom Buddies initially consisted of mentors for only breast cancer patients, members now provide support for individuals fighting colon, lung, head and neck, prostate cancers and lymphoma.
